Kerala - Here We Come...

So it was Kerala. The bookings were made through SOTC. The travel was to be started on 11-May. Lists were made for shopping, considering it would be 13 days of travel and that too a lot of car travel.

Preparations

Lot of car travel meant we needed to keep Mrunmay occupied. It is very difficult for children of his age to get lost in the scenic beauty of Kerala - may be for 5 minutes, but not more. Just listening to the songs is not really what he likes. If he is in mood, he would listen to baalgeete (songs for children) for may be 15-20 minutes, but definitely not hours together. Keeping all this in mind, we got ready with some on-the-go games, playing cards and mobile games. I filled up my mobile with about 8 games including Subway Surfer and Temple Run 2. And then I realized. With all the possible mobile playing, it would drain the battery a lot and it means I need some kind of power back up. 

 Started inquiring about it in the network. Also, tried the usual mechanism of google and found a bunch of options. However, no one really talked about how much capacity power bank one should buy and then I came across this article named - Don’t buy power bank before you read this. And it really gave some good piece of advise. Specially it solved my problem of how to find right capacity of the power bank so that it charges 2 phones completely. Flipkart being the usual destination for electronic items shopping, I searched for right capacity power banks and landed up with this model - Ambrane P-1000 portable Charger. Ordered it from flipkart and got an eventful delivery on Saturday, that is just a day before leaving for the vacation.

In the meanwhile, Myntra delivered the two ordered items well on time, as usual!

 Clothes - done.
Footware - done.
Gadgets - done.
Cameras - done.
Medicines - done.
Umbrellas - done.
Bags - done.
Packing - done!!

The Journey Begins!

And on Sunday Morning, rather early morning, as we were about to leave for Airport, Meghana got a surprise! It being "Mother's Day", Mrunmay presented her with a beautiful gift :)
 
 

We started from Pune Airport, heading towards Bengaluru! The joy on Mrunmay's face and the energy he was carrying was just amazing!! Probably it wasn't just about going out, but going out with both of us, getting to spend entire day with both of us, getting to play entire day with both us - all was mixed in his joy!

Weekend time. I was playing with Mrunmay, one of his games - 3 letter words. Basically there are some paper strips having one letter printed on it and then there's a letter dispenser, which dispenses 2 letters at a time. The game is to make up a word with those two letters and one of the paper strips. It's too early for Mrunmay to know the spellings and obviously the job of finding out matching spellings was with me. After every round, I was telling him the meaning of the word formed, in the form of question / answers. Songs have a huge role in our life. In childhood, the primary source of songs was Radio. It slowly expanded to TV, then dedicated music channels. Somewhere in between or in parallel to Radio and Television, there existed the parallel world of Cassettes (and then later CDs) which served the audience. Since then, we have evolved to on-demand, yet unlimited songs. Each of these phases has/had some peculiarities of its own.  When I was a regular listener of the radio, there was only a handful of channels - probably two or three. One channel was primarily for music where Hindi songs were dominant and the other was for general.
