Infinite thoughts

First of all, wish you all a very happy new year! Due to the corona outbreak(COVID-19), India is in a lockdown state and today becomes the first official lockdown.  My family and I have been at home since last one week and have stepped out only thrice or max four times to complete some chores - primarily groceries and vegetables and milk. Rest of the time, all of us are under one roof, not stepping out at all. Meghana and I have been working from home since last Wednesday. Though my son has school shut, there were some revisions to be done. Today was a bit different. It was a real holiday for him and me. And wegot a time to do lot of house work and also a lot of time to play with Mrunmay.  Jenga blocks  ruled the day. He also tried his hands at making "पोळ्या" and washing utensils. Always wonder why do they call it "opposition party" or leader of "opposition"? The word itself is so full of negativism, no one can expect a positive outcome from the person or he party. And our political leaders live that word breathe in - breathe out. They simply know to oppose whatever is proposed by the ruling party. Isn't there a better word for this row? A word that will push positivity, that will inculcate constructive criticism? Person or party playing that role could then take it quite "literally" :)

But it's willingness to take action goes down as the time passes by. Triggered by a statement by a relative, a memory of a sad instance in company came to surface. That relative was not even remotely related to that instant or the company, but still mentioned few details about it. And I realized that public may not be talking about any given instance, but it is very much there in the public memory. It just takes a mention of story to dig out the whole episode in the public mind. However, what matters then is, whether anyone wants to any action on that. Our politicians benefit from this behavior immensely. They know that once the committee is formulated, it will take a while for the committee to submit the report. And by then, public, busy with there day jobs, will go short on its willingness to force any action on the outcome. Same thing actually worked in favor of society during the Ram-Janmabhumi verdict. Mrunmay made this using one of his block games. We were baffled, and Mrunmay asked us to guess ... We couldn't, can you? (now I know what it is, Mrunmay was kind enough to tell us immediately :) I get amazed many times to see his observation of small things which usually go unnoticed by me or probably they are too common to be noticed. Mrunmay, when refers to it, gives us shock and leaves us wondering about his observation capability :)
